Casinos in Deadwood in The Black Hills of South Dakota Throughout the Black Hills of South Dakota you'll see small little shop fronts called Casinos but when you enter them all you'll find is video poker or video black jack. In South Dakota small time video gambling is allowed but if you want to play real cards or slot machines you'll need to go to a true gambling town like Deadwood South Dakota. Located in the heart of the Black Hills Deadwood makes a perfect stop while touring or a great place to get a hotel room and party it up. Because most of the hotels are casinos you'll find that accommodations are a bit nicer here. Some of the more famous casinos in Deadwood are the old number 10 saloon where Wild Bill Hickok was shot and the Midnight Star casino which is owned by Kevin and Dan Costner. As you can see here, the town of Deadwood looks like a small town you might have seen in a western. Almost every storefront is a Black Hills Gold or Casino operation. Because there are so many casinos in Deadwood you'll find some better than others. My two favorites are the Silverado Casino and the Celebrity Casino. The Silverado is huge and is an easier place to play. The Celebrity smaller but has great movie memorabilia |
