How To Start Your Chinese Pocket Bike

I bought this Chinese Pocket Bike off of eBay and could not get the pocket bike to start.  Chinese Pocket Bikes are not well made so I wasn't sure if it would start at all.  I followed all the directions but could not even get it to fire at all.  I searched Google for Pocket Bike Won't Start and How To Start Pocket Bike and found no real luck.  I finally got the pocket bike to start today and once it started I can start it easily every time.  Here is how I got my pocket bike started.

I'm told at first you use a fuel mixture higher in oil than normal for the break in period of the pocket bike think mine was 30:1 After a tank or two you can go to a 40:1 mix in the pocket bike.  I only noticed smoking when starting when riding I did not notice my pocket bike smoking.

1: Be sure your Pocket Bike has the gas on

Your fuel valve should look like this picture:

2:  Be sure the Pocket Bike choke is CLOSED  Usually the lever should be in the UP position.

3: Pull slowly on the pocket bike rope twice to prime the engine

4: Put your left knee on the seat to hold the pocket bike down.  With your left hand crack the throttle a bit.  Pull quickly on the pocket bike rope with your right hand.  This should start your pocket bike

5: If the pocket bike does not start repeat these steps.  My pocket bike did not want to start below 40 degrees so if it is colder than that wait to start your pocket bike until it is warmer.
