Sprint CDMA Card

CDMA Wireless Sprint

We first purchased the Sprint PCS Wizard card a year ago and were amazed at our testing.  The Sprint CDMA cards were able to provide wireless internet access at speeds ranging from 30kb to 115kb depending on your physical location.  The cards worked both with our VPN product and using Citrix Secure Gateway which tunnels ICA traffic over SSL.  After some initial testing we bought one for our CFO.  Soon he was working in taxi's and airports.  We braced for the expected support calls.  Knowing our cell phones we assumed service would be spotty with frequent disconnects.  I don't know why but no problems of the kind with this product.  Our Senior Staff can't say enough about this product.  Since that first year we've rolled these units out to our sales force and IT staff.

Installation of the Sprint CDMA card can't be easier.  Put the CD-Rom in BEFORE installing the card.  Then pop the CDMA card in and let it discover the TWO devices contained within.  From there launch the Sprint connection manager and hit connect and your on the internet.

The Sprint CDMA card comes in three flavors.  A rugged PCMCIA version and a CF version with a PCMCIA adapter plus a Sprint Sierra card which combines CDMA wireless and Wifi and is the fastest unit tested.  For some reason we're getting MUCH faster performance from the CF CDMA version, speeds up to 200kb.  The CF CDMA version has a pop out antenna that so far has not broken.  We've started buying strictly CF CDMA carda  due to the higher speed.  As another benefit, the CF CDMA version can be used in PDA's for internet connectivity.

rode in a car from Minneapolis, MN to Ohio and worked all the way on the corporate VPN.  No interruptions.
