My wife wants to re-decorate my office with new Mission Style furniture.  She picked the pieces out of a catalog but we hoped we would find something locally.  After visiting all the major furniture stores in the Twin Cities we went to Becker Furniture World in Becker Minnesota.  Becker Furniture World is about one hour north west of the Twin Cities on Highway 10.  We live only 20 miles from Becker Furniture World but had never been to visit.  We'd seen all the commercials stating that Becker Furniture World is the largest furniture store in Minnesota.  Becker Furniture World also has canvassed the Sherburne County area with billboards that offer clever slogans etc.  They weren't kidding, this place is MASSIVE.  The good thing is that its also very useful and a consumer friendly place to shop for furniture.

Becker Furniture World features an easy to navigate outlet store on one end, a restaurant in the middle and a two level store on the opposite end.  Compared to other furniture stores, Becker Furniture World is easier to shop at.  This is because their furniture is grouped into departments where some other stores mix everything together to force you to walk the entire store to see everything.  You can ask any sales person where something is and they can send you direct to the area featuring your item.

I was being forced to miss the Minnesota Vikings game but that was no problem.  Becker Furniture World has big screen TV's all over the store.  Any husband whose wife wants him off his ass on Sunday should suggest going to Becker Furniture World as you can score points and not miss any of the action.  In addition to the TV's and on site restaurant, the recreation area features pool tables and there are stand up video games for use by the guests of Becker Furniture World.

Apart from the sheer size of this furniture store I should mention that there are TONS of sales consultants who continually offer help but aren't pushy.  If you find yourself with a question you can shop on your own and then turn around and find a helpful sales person.

Overall Becker Furniture World lives up to its good reputation.  The selection was excellent, the prices fairly low and the staff helpful.  The bonus is the on-site restaurant and the husband and child friendly perks all throughout Becker Furniture World.  Additionally there is a Thomasville Furniture store located within Becker Furniture world.  If you didn't find what you wanted here you could also check the new Thomasville Furniture store in Maple Grove.
