Great River Energy is Minnesota's second largest electric company.  Great River Energy is headquartered in Elk River but has locations around the state of Minnesota.  One significant Great River Energy plant is the garbage burner in Elk River.  This transforms everyday trash into power for Minnesota.  As landfills are filled the Great River Energy garbage burner becomes part of the solution rather than the problem.  Great River Energy can also be seen in Maple Grove where they've built a new building near the Arbor Lakes Shopping Mall.  You can't miss it just watch for the windmill.
