Live in Saint Paul or Minneapolis and need a car for only a few hours? Hourcar is coming to the Twin Cities in areas of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Hourcar members pay a monthly fee in addition to a startup fee which allows them to use a Toyota Prius for a few hours at a time. This is a good alternative for city dwellers who don't want the hassle and cost of owning a car. Shared cars at Hourcar are used for a few hours and the borrowers only pay for the time they use the car as well as their monthly charge. Hourcar will serve Uptown, and Loring in Minneapolis and Lowertown and Downtown in Saint Paul. Hourcar has developed partnerships with business to make hubs easy to locate and get to.
Monthly dues range from $5.00 to $20.00 and each use adds an hourly charge of $5.00 - $7.00 per hour and mileage charge of $.39 - $.45 per mile depending on which monthly plan you get on.
