I had my eyes corrected by Dr. David Whiting at Lasik Plus in Maple Grove in 2002. This was when Lasik surgery was very expensive and I wasn't sure what to expect. I visited Lasik Plus for my consultation and learned that I was a good candidate for Lasik surgery. My eyes required very little correction and could easily be further corrected years down the road if necessary. I met Dr David Whiting and was impressed with his confidence in the results and was comfortable with Dr Whiting and the entire staff at Lasik Plus in Maple Grove. The day of my Lasik surgery my dad drove me to Lasik Plus at 8:00am. I was there a very short time as the Lasik surgery is very quick. I was offered a sedative but declined. The surgery was not painful but was odd and uncomfortable. The Lasik surgery puts pressure on your eye as it is cut and then lasered. Each eye took only minutes and I was back in the waiting room with a clear cover over my eyes. They felt very dry and I could already see better without glasses but my vision was slightly blurry. I went home and slept and when I woke at noon my eyes were dry and burning. I simply applied the drops I received at Lasik Plus and they were relieved. At 12:30 I was able to drive my car to Arbys to get lunch without wearing glasses. The next day I felt fine but had to keep applying the drops to keep my eyes from drying out.
When I went back for my checkup months after I learned that I had 20/10 vision. Wow! I could fly fighter jets! Years after in 2005 I'm still amazed that my eyes have not deteriorated one bit. Perfect vision and no glasses. Thanks to Lasik Plus and Dr. Whiting
