PF Changs China Bistro restaurant is one of many new restaurants to open in Maple Grove's new outdoor mall called The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. Because of its popularity I would highly recommend reservations, although at 8:30pm on a Friday we were able to get a table after a 30 minute wait. The atmosphere is an open room dining situation so expect loud conversation. PF Changs is a great group meal restaurant because food is served on platters that allow you to transfer quantity to your own plate. Because the menu offers so much to choose from being able to sample is a great asset. The food at PF Changs also comes VERY quick, those hungry shoppers this will appreciate this.

Our appetizer was a couple of vegetable spring rolls which were small but good tasting. For our entrees we tried the Mongolian Beef which I HIGHLY recommend. I asked for it spicy and got it served just right so I'm not sure how it would come out had I not asked. I can say that if you like the taste of marinated beef and vegetables this is a sure winner. The beef with broccoli was good but compared to its more favorable companion the Mongolian Beef it didn't stand up. The beef served in the beef with broccoli dish also had a thicker cut which my wife had to use a knife and fork to eat. My pick would be a dish with the beef and flavor of the Mongolian beef and the delicious broccoli served in the other dish.
The pricing at PF Changs was surprisingly inexpensive. Drinks can add to your bill quickly but for the high quality of the food vs. typical take out Chinese restaurants I was pleasantly surprised to pay less than expected. Another thing I'd like to add to PF Changs credit. Wine, Beer and Cocktail prices are actually in the menu. I can't recall the last time I knew what a drink was going to run outside of beer or wine. This was a nice surprise.
Lastly bring your credit card or cash as we learned checks are not accepted as we were paying our bill.
