Cabela's the popular hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear store is hoping to open its third Minnesota store in Rogers Minnesota. Located next to County Road 101 and Highway 694 in Rogers, this makes for a perfect location for a Cabela's Outdoor Store. Hunters and Anglers regularly travel 694 and Highway 10 to get to their favorite fishing holes and hunting land so passing by Cabela's will make for a great place to stock up on all kinds of outdoor gear. The Rogers area has long been known as an area for outdoor types so the opening of a Cabela's in Rogers will make for a draw to the growing Rogers area for locals and those living outside the Rogers area. Cabela's is currently working with the City of Rogers to ensure that existing wetlands minimally impacted or replaced as a result of any impact from the construction of the new Cabela's store.

The new Cabelas store in Rogers would become the largest outdoor store in Minnesota 185,000 square feet in size. This would possibly open in late 2005 or early 2006. Cabelas also operates stores in Owatonna and East Grand Forks, but neither store will be comparable in size to the coming Rogers Cabela's store. The Rogers area employment numbers would also realize a strong boost by the 300-400 employees required to run the Cabela's super store. The local economy in Rogers could certainly use the investment and the opening of the Cabela's store could spur additional growth. Other large stores such as a Kohl's have already made the move to Rogers. The City of Rogers could be transformed from the previous truck stop and warehouse environment to a bustling commercial area similar to Maple Grove's Arbor Lakes or the area surrounding the Albertville Outlets.
